This is an image of someone with an oxygen mask on their face. Within the oxygen mask is a cigarette with smoke coming from it. The existence of the smoke is to make clear the existence of the cigarette. The cigarette in a sense explains why the person is in need of the oxygen mask. The image is accompanied by the words 'No Smoking', which makes ie extremely clear that my project opposes the habit of smoking.
This image only contains the most important features of the human face in a time of crisis, the eyes. Rouse (2008) states "emotions like sadness, excitement, joy and anger show up in the eyes." I feel although this image is quite powerful with the use of the oxygen mask and cigarette, more emotion needs to be expressed through the eyes. This emotion can possibly be depicted with a tear drop.
